The International Guitar Festival "Luigi Legnani" stems from an idea of Maestro Giovanni Demartini, to promote young talented guitarists and established professionals.
The festival is organized together with the municipality of Cervia and has been extremely successful since its first edition. The high-level event hosts world-renowned artists and cooperates with the prestigious Guitar Competition "Pittaluga" which is held in the city of Alessandria and is considered the most important event of this kind in the world.
The Festival takes place every year between April and May at the Teatro Comunale di Cervia, which was built in 1860 and is located in the southern bastion of the old city centre .
Despite its small size the theatre has perfect acoustics and refined details (plaster, frescoes, antlers). Since its foundation, 150 years ago, all theatrical genres have been performed in the theatre, from drama to music, from cinema to ballet.
The historical value and beauty of the theatre make this event one of the most important Italian and European guitar festivals.
