Maestro Giovanni Demartini



He successfully graduated from the Conservatory "Venezze” in Rovigo and attended master-classes with Michelangelo Severi and Piero Bonaguri. He further attended master-classes given by world-renowned musicians: Oscar Ghiglia, Alirio Diaz, Julian Bream, David Russell. He participated in various national and international guitar and chamber music competitions, he was awarded many prestigious prizes and honorary diplomas.

He has recorded many radio and R.A.I television programmes, also working for Radio TV Koper (Slovenia) and is constantly invited to prestigious music events achieving both critical and public success. He often premières works written for him by important composers.

He is a soloist but also part of chamber music groups, performing recitals in major Italian and European music centres and he also often goes on tour in Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Germany and United States where he teaches master-classes at the Texas Tech University in Lubbock and at the Christian University in Dallas..

He served as teacher assistant during the international courses "Faenza music" and the "Annual courses of chamber music" held in Koper (Slovenia). He is a guitar soloist in the Ensemble and in the orchestra "Gino Neri" in Ferrara recording with them several CDs, and working for the Suiss Radio RSR. He gives many concerts in Italy and abroad: in 2004 he went on a historic prestigious tour in Japan..

He is a member of the GFA (Guitar Foundation of America) and of the musical association "Laurentiana” in Imola and “Angelo Mariani” in Ravenna. He is the founder and artistic director of the “International Guitar Festival" Luigi Legnani " that takes place in Cervia. He has been a teacher in secondary schools focusing on music and in various music schools for many years and since 1989 he has been teaching classical guitar at the high school “Ezio Pinza " in Ravenna. He plays with a guitar made by the lutist Heidi Pulfer.
